Inside Academic Strikes

Since we began this project, there have been a series of unprecedented and historic strike actions that academic student workers and student researchers have organized at public and private universities. These strikes have been organized around academic workers' working and cost of living conditions that are largely influenced by the geographical location of these Universities. As a group, we are tracking these strikes, namely the one that took place at the University of California in the Fall of 2022, in which we were active participants. We are interested in understanding how the labor process of academic workers and student researchers shaped the progression and outcome of these strikes.
